When a word, an expression, a phrase, or a name is too long, we abbreviate it, by omitting some letters, as for example, Mr for mister, demo for demonstration, etc.. We abbreviate an expression, a word, etc., when they are too long, difficult to pronounce, or when we are writing in a hurry. Some times we use abbreviations to appear fashionable also.
