aberration (noun) abnormality; mental imbalance; being different from accepted behavior.

Those orphaned in childhood may develop aberrations, that is, they may develop abnormality in behavior or thinking, because of the lack of parental affection in their childhood. The discrimination a person is subject to, may cause aberrations in them, leading to their abnormal behavior. If others ill treat a person, they may think every one is unfriendly to them, and that is an aberration. (Something mentally wrong with him; he suspects everyone.)
