The air conditioner in an automobile is an accessory, as also the rubber mats on its floor. The things a person (usually a woman) carries or wears to suit their clothes are accessories. A person who helps another person in committing a crime, or in planning it, or has information about it is an accessory to the crime.

  • She desires to buy a pair of emerald ear studs as an accessory to her latest dress which is predominantly green.
  • His automobile is quite swank with all the accessories like the latest music system, automatic controls, etc..
  • In the eyes of law, an accessory to the crime is as guilty as the one who executes the crime, and is equally punishable.
  • Every one had thought he was innocent until the court found him guilty of being an accessory.
