addiction (noun) having a habit; being habituated to (especially to harmful drugs, alcohol, etc.).

Inability to stop doing something (usually a bad thing) that has formed into a habit is 'addiction.' Being too interested to give up something usually bad can be called 'addiction.' We talk of addiction to drink, alcohol, coffee, TV, games, etc..

  • We now have a number of de-addiction centers and counseling experts to help people to be free from addiction if only they have the will to be free from addiction.
  • People having an addiction to drugs, alcohol, etc., become so reckless that they are totally unmindful of the damage, mental, physical, and psychological, it causes to them.
