affirmation (noun) declaration, of the truth of something, or of support to something; confirmation.

If you state firmly that something is true, it is your affirmation of the truth. Declaring firmly that you support a party is the affirmation of your support to the party. A person's emphatic public expression of the correctness of something is their affirmation of its correctness.

  • As the evidence was very strong against her, her affirmation of innocence failed to convince the judge.
