antipathy (noun) strong dislike.

Your antipathy of someone is your dislike of someone to the extent of avoiding them. Racists, for example, have a strong antipathy to the people of other races. That is, people who believe in the superiority of their race cannot tolerate the people of other races. Environmentalists, for example, have a general antipathy to deforestation.

  • The antipathy of a single individual, Hitler, to the Jews, sparked off World War II, the most destructive war in human history, which led to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
  • The antipathy among the soviets themselves to Marxism led to the end of scientific socialism in the erstwhile USSR.
