astigmatism (noun) an eye problem causing defective vision or loss of vision.

A person suffering from astigmatism has the inner part of the eye formed defectively. As a result their focus is affected and they cannot see clearly. Astigmatism can be congenital (inborn) or heredity.

  • Astigmatism prevents the proper focus of the eye on the objects, and this causes the person's inability to see clearly.
  • Parents should always be watchful of the functions of their baby's various faculties like the baby's vision, hearing, etc.. They should always be in touch with a doctor to know early symptoms of astigmatism, deafness, etc..
