audacious (adj) bold and prepared for risks.
People who are bold even to the point of taking risks are audacious. A circus artiste, for example, performs breath taking feats boldly, risking death and injury. So they are audacious, as also their feats. The Guinness Book of World Records is a list of record breaking feats performed by audacious persons, who dare take any risk, just to create a record.
- Though the feats and fights shown in the movies are just stunts, which fake real actions and real fights, they too require the stuntmen to be audacious, as even these stunts are not just fun but involve a lot of risk and special training.
- The audacious child did not just bother to think of the risk involved in jumping down from such a height. It just jumped down, and the wonder was it was not injured.
