bandy (verb) exchange angry words; quarrel.

'The treasury benches and the opposition bandied complaints about each other in the parliament.' This means, they exchanged angry words accusing each other of being dishonest, unpatriotic, etc.. To pass remarks angrily at each other is to bandy.

  • What decided the divorce for Ashley and Amy was their bandying charges of each being unfaithful to the other, and each complaining that the other had extramarital relationships.
  • The Chairman on the one side, and members of the Board of Directors on the other, bandied charges of acting against the interests of the company.
