beseech (verb) plead with; request very earnestly.
When you ask someone very anxiously to do something, you beseech them to do it. When you almost beg a person to do you a favor, you beseech them. 'When threatened by an attack from Israel, Palestine, while relying on its own resources, has often beseeched (besought) the help of its Arab neighbors.' This means that in the face of an Israeli attack, Palestine has often pleaded with the Arab countries to help it. 'I beseech to spare me this once.' These are the words of a person pleading for mercy and to be let off without a punishment.
