When a person faces many problems at the same time, they are beset with problems. A country is beset with problems, when it has more problems than it can solve.

  • The government is beset with problems, internal as well as external, which include the threat of invasion from a neighboring country, the demand of the people for better living conditions and more jobs, and of course, meager finances.
  • The modern woman, as a homemaker, is beset with problems like rising prices, husband keeping irregular hours, unruly children, etc..
