bigotry (noun) absolute intolerance of others' views on religion, race, and politics.
The inability to tolerate any opinion other than one's own on matters of religion, politics, race, etc., is bigotry. A narrow-minded and blind holding on to one's own religion, race, political beliefs and hatred of other religions, races, etc., is bigotry. Religions preach peace and tolerance, but it is unfortunate that in the name of religion destructive wars have been fought. Bigotry is responsible for the Crusades in the Middle Ages, and also for Hitler's desire to exterminate the Jews. The most recent example of bigotry is the September 11, 2001 attack by Bin Laden and his men on the World Trade Center in New York.
- Most terrorist organizations in the world today are the products of bigotry which makes people intolerant of other faiths than their own, and of other races than their own, and resort to the use of violence to establish what they believe in.
- 'Live and let live' is the preaching of every religion. Bigotry, however, makes people feel that their religion, race, etc., should alone prevail.
