boorish (adj) rude; discourteous; ill-mannered.

A boorish person lacks manners and is offensive in his behavior and talk. It is boorish to interrupt when a person is talking or to intrude into a conversation between two persons. It is boorish not to use proper forms of address like Mr., Mrs., etc., while talking to people who are not so close to us.

  • Adam is boorish enough to talk in a commanding tone even to elders and strangers.
  • Abel's boorishness cost him his job, as even his very gentle boss found him incapable of improving his manners.
