'Callow', as part of the phrase, 'callow youth,' is usually applied to a young man who is inexperienced and immature. 'Callow' refers both to the looks, as well as to the thinking and actions, of the young man. It is a word signifying a negative quality and describes a young man who is not very competent, and whose handling of things is inept.
