candor (noun) frankness; openness in talk.

A person of candor is a person of plain speaking. They speak out their feelings and do not try to hide them, even to avoid displeasing others. Candor, in short, is plainness, outspokenness.

  • While a good number of people admire Albert's candor, there are certainly those who are hurt by it, as it prompts him to be frank and open.
  • Lemmon's candor often lands him in trouble. For example, when he told his girlfriend frankly that she did have certain shortcomings and that in spite of them he loved her, she was offended and has not seen him since.
