An irritable person, who always complains and who is very unpleasant to deal with, is cantankerous. One who gets angry easily, and always has some complaint or the other, about things happening around them, are cantankerous. A cantankerous person is difficult to please.
- Henry is cantankerous as a husband and father. He finds nothing to his liking in whatever his children and wife do, and never has a pleasant moment with them.
