choleric (adj) irritable, bad-tempered.
A person who is choleric loses their temper easily, that is, they are easily made angry. Even the slightest provocation makes them blow up in anger. Choleric persons can never be pleasant, nor can they make others pleasant. They have very few happy moments in life.
- John's choleric nature turns people away from him, and he is ever lonely. He lacks the one thing which can make life happy for him, and that is, patience. He always breaks out into a fit of anger irrespective of whose presence he is in and whom he is dealing with.
- It needs a lot of self-control to overcome choleric temper, and thus be free from needless anger. The choleric should first of all realize that their anger gets them no where and patience can accomplish greater things for them.
