cloying (adj) (of foods and sweets) excessively sweet, and so sickening or distasteful; (of stories, plays, etc.) excessively sentimental, so unpleasant.
When an item of food, or a sweet, is so sweet that you begin to wish not to have any more of it, it is cloying. When you have had a hearty lunch or dinner, the sight or flavor of food is likely to be cloying. That is, you have enough of it and do not desire any more of it.
