comeuppance (noun) a punishment or a bad happening that a person deserves.
When a person gets a punishment, which we feel they really deserve, they get their comeuppance. We are happy that they have been rightly punished, for the wrongs they have done. When a bad character in a movie is punished in the end, we feel that they have got what they deserve. That is, we are satisfied that they have had their comeuppance.
