conclusive (adj) final; certain; undoubted.

A thing that is conclusive is certain. There is no scope for any doubt about it. A conclusive proof is a proof which is irrefutable. A conclusive result of a fight or of a match is the final result of the fight or the match - one side gets a definite win and the other a certain defeat.

  • The judge dismissed the case as the prosecution failed to provide conclusive evidence of Felix's involvement in the murder. The evidence, the judge declared, had a lot of scope for doubt, and gave the benefit of doubt to the accused.
