condiments (noun) seasonings; spices.

Powders or liquids, like salt, pepper, sauce, etc., that is mixed with food to add flavor to it are condiments. Condiments make food spicy in addition to adding flavor to them. Mustard, pepper, salt, ketchup, poppy, garlic powder, etc., are examples of condiments.

  • Food without condiments, some feel, is insipid. For them it is unimaginable to relish food without condiments.
  • Condiments add flavor to food, but at the same time too much of them, like chilly pepper, might upset our stomach.
