connivance (noun) cooperation with someone in wrongdoing; pretence of ignorance of a wrongdoing.
If with the connivance of person you do a wrong thing, you have their help in the wrongdoing; they do not prevent you from it, or you have their silent or indirect approval for doing the wrong thing. If you have the connivance of the police, they either let you do the wrong thing or assure you, directly or more often indirectly, of not taking any action. When someone pretends not to have seen or noticed your wrongdoing, they are in connivance with you. Both of you together are offenders.
