conundrum (noun) a riddle; a puzzle; a difficult problem testing one's intelligence.

A confusing and difficult problem is a conundrum. Usually conundrums are asked for fun and to test a person's smartness. A conundrum is a trick question. A difficult problem to which we are unable to find an answer is also a conundrum.

  • At the picnic spot, part of the time was spent on conundrums, some of which not only entertained but also teased the brains of the picnickers.
  • One of the very famous conundrums is: What is the animal which walks on the fours in the morning, on two at noon, and on three in the evening? (Answer: The human being)
