correlation (noun) connection; relationship.

There is a correlation between two or more things if there is a connection between them; if the changes in one are immediately followed by the changes in the other. There is a correlation between weather conditions and human health. That is, human health too changes, as the weather changes. Good food or the lack of it has correlation with diseases. A lack of proper food or overmuch of food affects human health.

  • There is a correlation between the moon's phases and the ocean, and this is seen in the high tide and the low tide on the full moon and the new moon days.
  • All said and done, a person's social status and power are decided by their wealth. Hence the correlation between wealth and social power cannot be ruled out.
