crass (adj) insensitive; stupid; unrefined.

When a person is crass, they are stupid, and insensitive to others' feelings. They just don't bother what others think of them or their actions. All that they care about is what they want to do, and how they can do it, no matter how it affects others. A crass question is a question that hurts others. Crass materialism is open and unashamed interest in money and the things that money can buy. Crass commercialism is a person's interest in how best they can make money by considering everything in terms of money.

  • William is a crass politician, trying to stay in power by any means, and interested in amassing as much money as he can, without bothering how he makes it, and without any consideration how it affects others.
  • While dealing with the disabled persons Susan has offered to serve, she never puts them a crass question which in any manner makes them aware of their disability, and hurts them.
