defiance (noun) open disobedience of, or resistance to, authority.

Your open disobedience of law or resistance to authority is your defiance of law or authority. Opposing something or violating a law is defiance. 'They have started constructions in the site in defiance of government's orders prohibiting any construction.' This means that their constructions are in violation of government's orders.
