disparity (noun) difference (usually an unfair one).
A disparity of wages is a difference in the wages between two persons, or two groups, for the same kind of work, which obviously is unfair. An unequal treatment is disparity. A disparity in the ages of a wife and a husband is the wide age gap between the spouses. The disparity between the rich and the poor is the unfair difference between their incomes and statuses.
