dispassionate (adj) uninfluenced by feelings and emotions.

When you are dispassionate you are free from the influence of your feelings and emotions, you act or think independently of them. You are calm and balanced, and take a dispassionate view of things. You judge impartially. There are chances of your taking better decisions when you are dispassionate.

  • The UN assumes the role of a dispassionate observer when it comes to monitoring the elections in troubled areas, where it is feared the elections may not be free and fair.
  • A judge is expected to be dispassionate, as only when they are free from emotion, can they see the facts of a case correctly and deliver an impartial judgment.
