divine (verb) find out something by guessing; to locate underground water.
When you divine what has happened or what is going to happen, you find it out by guessing. Most often you may prove right. When you know by guessing that your friend is coming to you to borrow money, you divine it. When you divine by looking at your father that he is going to ask you about your poor grades, you know it by guessing. To search for water underground is to divine water resources. To locate a point where water can be found is to divine it.
