doddering (adj) weak and shaky (of a person).

A doddering person is weak, slow, and shaky, especially because of their old age. They walk unsteadily. They may not be able to walk without the support of another person or a stick.

  • Though he is a doddering old man and cannot walk steadily, his senses are still acute. He can see and hear clearly and recognize people.
  • It was pitiable to see the doddering old man trying to cross the street. He did not have the support of even a stick, and I was afraid he might be hit by a speeding vehicle.
