drab (adj) dull; colorless; unexciting.

A thing that is drab is dull and uninteresting. A drab movie is a boring movie. A place is drab if it looks dull and cheerless. 'He worked away in his drab little office.' This means that the room he worked in had a dull look without anything to decorate it. A city is drab if it is uninteresting and has nothing attractive to offer to the visitor or the people there.

  • The countryside scene where we picnicked last Sunday was drab and unexciting. We had expected it to be very colorful and enjoyable and we were certainly disappointed.
  • The drab movie with its thin storyline dragged on, with nothing in it to cheer anyone, and when the end came we heaved a sigh of relief.
