An eclectic style is formed by mixing a number of different styles to produce a beautiful effect. An eclectic gathering is a gathering of people, usually the best from different professions, occupations, etc.. An art gallery is eclectic if it exhibits a collection of paintings and other art pieces of different styles by different artists, usually the best among them.

  • The electives Friedman chose for the completion of his graduate program are eclectic in that they are a combination of all the subjects much sought after by young persons with their eyes on bright careers.
