emolument (noun) (usually plural) salary; compensation.

Your emoluments are the money you get for the work you do. Your emoluments include the basic salary and the other allowances paid to you. “Emoluments” is used to refer to pay drawn especially one earning a lot of money.

  • His total emoluments include, in addition to his salary, a car, free furnished accommodation and an annual tourist trip to any place on the globe.
  • John did not accept the job because the total emoluments he would receive for the job would be far below his efforts and the benefits of his skill and experience that would help the company perform better.
