When you cannot turn your eyes away from the breath taking feats of a circus artiste, they engage your attention. When a sight or a happening gets your total attention it engages you; you do not think of any thing else. A personís words or actions engage your attention if they interest you very much. A book or a story engages you if you find it very interesting. You engage a lawyer if you use their services. You engage a consultant if you take their advice. You engage a clerk to maintain your accounts if you appoint them for it.
