When a person has an escapade, they are involved in a reckless and stupid adventure. A romantic escapade is a foolish love affair landing the person in danger. Trying to dodge the police after provoking them is an escapade because it is dangerous and stupid to be involved with the police. A prank is also an escapade. Trying to play tricks which might not always be amusing is having an escapade.
