factious (adj) causing factions.

If a person causes factions in an organization, they are factious. Your action is factious if it can cause factions in a group, making some have difference of opinion with the others. Factious tendencies are tendencies that can cause factions.

  • Newman is responsible for the dissensions in the club's executive committee. His statements opposing the club’s charitable activities have always been factious and have created two groups in the club.
  • Human beings being what they are, almost every organization is factious to some degree or the other. Differences of opinion are always there and they make people and organizations factious.
