feint (noun) (sport) trick; a mock movement or attack that is intended to mislead the opponent.
In sport, when you make a movement with the intention of making the opponent think that you are going to do one thing when you really are going to do something else, you make a feint. A pretended movement, especially in sport, that too in boxing, is a feint. Your feint might put your opponent off their guard.
