When a thing grows well it flourishes. When a business flourishes, it gets good profits. Crops flourish if they grow well and yield a good harvest. When a person flourishes they are healthy, wealthy, and happy. Plants flourish in a favorable climate. When you wave something around so that all may see it, you flourish it. You flourish, for example, your certificates, if you wave the papers around so that everybody sees them, and know you have the qualifications.
