foist (verb) get something sold or accepted by someone; impose.
When you foist something on a person, you force them to accept something which they do not like. You get something sold to or accepted by others by deception, when you foist something on them. You foist work on others when you force them to agree to do the work which they don't like. Foisting is imposing.
