frail (adj) weak; easily damaged or broken.

A frail old man is a weak old man. A person, who, especially, because of their age is thin and weak, is frail. When a thing is frail it is easily broken. The stems of flowers are frail. The dried branches of a tree are frail as they are broken easily.

  • James' father is old and is too frail to live alone. He is too weak to walk without someone's support.
  • The boat in which they sailed was so frail that a moderately strong wind and a slightly rough sea could damage it easily.
