fraudulent (adj) deceitful; cheating.

A person's actions or words are fraudulent if they are intended to cheat others. Fraudulent statements are lies meant to deceive or mislead others, for the purpose, especially of getting money. Fraudulent claims for money are false claims. Anything got by fraudulent means is got by cheating others.

  • James Smith had fled the country by the time the police began searching for him for his fraudulent action of using forged demand drafts to cheat a bank.
  • By fraudulent means Tom obtained the number of the combination locker of the safe and stole all the jewelry in it.
