A fresco is a painting done in water colors on a wall, while the plaster is still wet. Most of the famous churches and cathedrals have frescoes - paintings in water colors done on their walls even while their plaster was wet. Such paintings usually last for a long time.

  • One of the attractive tourist sights in India is the Ajanta caves whose walls are adorned with beautiful frescoes of the life of Lord Buddha, and these wall paintings have lasted for centuries.
