When you fret, you are vexed and irritated, mostly about small things. You fret when you cannot be relaxed. You show a lot of impatience frequently, when you fret.

  • Smith was fretting over the delay in the starting of meeting, because he was impatient to get home to receive some guests.
  • Vincent fretted and fumed over his son's inability to get high enough grade in the exam to go to the school of medicine. He was worried that his investment on his son's education was so much of a waste.
