galaxy (noun) a close cluster of stars; any group of famous people or of people specializing in something.

A group or a system of stars in the outer space is a galaxy. The Milky Way is the galaxy to which the Sun belongs. The Sun is among the number of stars grouped together in the Milky Way. Out there in the outer space there are galaxies and galaxies - groups of stars at infinite distances from one another. An assemblage of persons famous in a field of activity is a galaxy. A galaxy of astronomers is a gathering of famous astronomers. A galaxy of movie artistes is a group of very famous and popular film stars.

  • Astronomers do not rule out the possibility of the existence of a star like the Sun with its planets and their satellites, in the galaxies other than the Milky Way.
  • A galaxy of script writers, directors, and movie stars invariably attend the Oscar Awards presentation function.
