glaring (adj) (of bad things) easily seen; (of light) unpleasantly bright; angry; fierce.

A glaring error is an error easily seen. A glaring omission is a clear omission which is too obvious and is seen by anybody. A glaring injustice is a clear example of injustice. A glaring light is unpleasantly bright. 'The glaring light of headlamps of the automobile confused him for a while.' This means that the unpleasant brightness of the headlamps confused him. Glaring looks are the angry and fierce looks of a person or a wild animal. The glaring eyes of a tiger are its angry eyes.

  • The report though prepared by experts has certain glaring errors which anybody can notice easily. It is very surprising such errors could find place in it.
  • The denial of compensation to the worker injured while on duty is an example of glaring injustice, as everyone has expected him to be compensated, as a matter of course.
