glower (verb) stare angrily.
You glower at someone if you stare angrily at them. When a worker, already tired, is made to work an extra hour, they glower, that is, they look with angry eyes. The clerk glowered when the manager asked him to stay an extra hour for downloading the reports from the other branches. That is, the clerk looked at the manager angrily.
- The boys glowered at the teacher when they were asked to stop playing and get back to studies. They however knew that their angry looks were of no avail.
