If things are graduated, they are graded, that is, they are divided into groups on the basis of their quality or standard. Lessons or exercises that are graduated are graded according to their increasing or decreasing levels of difficulty. Graduating fruit, etc., consists in dividing them into groups according to their freshness, taste, size, etc.. A container or a measure is graduated if it has marks showing measurements. A glass with millimeter markings on it is graduated.
