graphic (adj) clear and vivid.

A graphic description of an event is a very clear and detailed description of the event. It brings before our mind the actual picture of the event. A graphic account of a situation is a very clear explanation of the situation. No detail is left out in a graphic narration. Such description/narration gives a lifelike picture of an event or a sight.

  • The book is a graphic account of the Nazi persecution of the Jews and the daring attempts by just one man to rescue as many Jews as he could. The book reconstructs very clearly the type of cruelty that the Nazis were capable of.
  • Milton in his Paradise Lost book gives a graphic description of Hell. So vivid is the description that one wonders if he had really seen it.
