histrionic (adj) of acting or of actors; overacting or extremely emotional.

Anything connected with acting or actors; anything connected with theatre is histrionic. An actor's talent for acting is their histrionic talent. An actor of high histrionic talent is talented in acting on the stage or in the movies. A matter of histrionics is a matter connected with the stage or movies. A person is histrionic if they behave in an emotional manner, just to attract the attention of others, and are not sincere in their feelings.

  • The annual Oscar Awards are a real measure of a Hollywood actor's histrionic talent. An actor who receives the award is usually considered very good at acting.
  • She just wanted to see that she was really moved by the untimely death of the child of her husband's girlfriend. However, her histrionic behavior did not convince many of her sincerity.
