holster (noun) pistol or gun holder.

A leather case worn on a belt or on a strap under the arm for carrying a small gun or a pistol is a holster. Holsters usually form part of the uniform of the police or members of the armed forces. Cowboys of the West had their holsters filled with loaded pistols.
